What is Bitcoin on Spark?
Choose the right Bitcoin network, address and exchange route before sending funds.
Bitcoin on Spark and Bitcoin mainnet
BTC is the unit on both sides, but the payment networks and address formats differ. For this service’s Spark routes, obtain a Spark mainnet receiving address from your wallet. For a Bitcoin route, obtain a Bitcoin mainnet address instead.
Which address should I copy?
A Spark mainnet address begins spark1. A wallet can also offer Bitcoin deposit addresses or Lightning payment options; these are different payment methods. This exchange’s Spark address field accepts a Spark mainnet address, not a Lightning invoice or a Bitcoin deposit address.
Moving BTC between Bitcoin and Spark
For BTC to Spark BTC, send Bitcoin mainnet BTC to the order’s Bitcoin payment address and give a Spark address for the output. For the reverse route, pay through Spark and provide a Bitcoin mainnet receiving address. The displayed fees determine the final BTC amount.
Exchange and swap
On ChangeSpark, a Spark BTC exchange or swap is a conversion handled by the service. You can exchange BTC from another supported network or convert assets such as USDT, SOL or ETH into BTC on Spark. The receiving amount is fixed when the order is created.
Bridge and DEX: different services
Moving bitcoin between networks is sometimes described as bridging. ChangeSpark handles an exchange order; it is not the Spark protocol’s deposit or withdrawal interface and does not provide a trustless bridge or a decentralized exchange. Choose a route based on its actual payment steps and fees.
Does “Spark BTC token” mean a new coin?
ChangeSpark uses Spark BTC to mean bitcoin on Spark. It does not issue a Spark investment token. A token name or ticker alone is not enough to identify an asset: check the network and, for supported tokens, the contract or mint shown in the route details.
Before your first transfer
Open the selected direction, check both networks, review the quote and create an order. Copy the payment address only from that order. Save the private status link. Support needs your public CS order ID if a transfer needs review.
How Spark works
Spark is an off-chain Bitcoin system with shared signing and operators. Its documentation describes deposits, transfers and exits back to Bitcoin, as well as specific trust assumptions. Wallet support and the exact operation matter. Learn the distinction between a wallet operation and a service order in the Spark Bitcoin bridge guide.
Choosing your next step
Prepare a Spark-compatible wallet, check its receiving address and follow how to buy or swap into Spark BTC. If your wallet shows a Lightning option, read Spark vs Lightning before choosing a network.
